About This Spot

Stepping into Eurobar Café feels like entering a warmly lit nook tucked away on a charming Stockholm street. The pace here slows down just enough for you to settle into a rhythm that’s altogether unhurried and inviting. Soft conversations mingle with the subtle clinking of cutlery, wrapping the space in a quiet but lively hum that comforts and welcomes rather than overwhelms.

If you're reading this, you're probably in the process of deciding whether or not to eat here. We hope this review can help you make this decision well. First, by stating that the decision should unequivocally be in the affirmative: assuming you like great food and a wonderful atmosphere, you should definitely visit Café Eurobar! That being settled, we can move to our second bit of decision support, consisting of some advice on how to deal with its consequences. Because you will end up with a lasting craving for honey cake (and all of the other dishes you'll find on the menu and really ought to try), and you will learn that, to quote Eurobar's owner Elena, "life is better with smetana". This is what happened to us during our holiday, after we were lucky enough to visit Café Eurobar during a food tour and still more after we inadvertently found ourselves back there again for dinner some days later. We were quite unfamiliar with Eastern European cuisine, and are so glad we could try out so many amazing dishes during our visits. Especially in such a wonderful atmosphere and given Elena's knowledge of it and the joy with which she opens up the world of Eastern European food to others! If we lived in or near Stockholm, we would definitely become regulars. But alas, we don't, and you might live further away as well. So, what to do about the cravings for honey cake and borscht then? Here's what we've come up with so far: look for Eastern European restaurants in your area, and, since they're quite a rare treat, opt for some DIY: look for recipes, try to find an Eastern European grocery store in your neighborhood so you can always sooth your soul with some smetana, and maybe, just maybe, there will be collaborations between beekeepers and Eastern European bakers in your area so you can obtain honey cake, too. Most importantly: create perspective by deciding that you will visit Stockholm again, knowing that when you do, you'll get to pay this great place another visit!

The food was as good as always! I loved the meat dish with the sour onion and butter, I think. The potatoes with cheese were fabulous, and the Russian crepes were fantastic!

The food was wonderful. It made me remember how much I miss Russia and their hospitality. The staff was amazing. They listened and tried to solve all problems and questions in a way that wasn't too strenuous. Simply put, they were there when you needed them and were there before you had a need. I strongly recommend this place. Was there with family. Will definitely visit again and recommend !

This was my first time trying Borscht soup with smetana! Although I’m not a fan of beets, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I’m so glad I did because the soup was absolutely delicious! The owner, Elena, shared the fascinating history of Borscht and explained how she ferments the beets herself. I also enjoyed homemade Potato Vareniki (dumplings) — what an amazing dinner! Спасибо.

This Eastern European restaurant is truly a gem. The food is flavorful and sophisticated, served in a simple, cozy setting. You might just walk by, as from the outside it looks like a coffee shop, but don’t miss this opportunity to try dishes from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. I was fortunate to discover Eurobar as a guide with Food Tours Stockholm. The owner, Elena, is a wealth of knowledge, so be sure to ask her if you are interested to know more about the food and culture. The borscht and honey cake are to die for!

Delicious Russian food. Service was very kind and nice to chat with. I highly recommend the pelmeni: they were simply amazing, and I will definitely come back for more in the future.
